| The Light-Green Market Opportunity: |
|
The 'light-green' market is just beginning to be recognized globally. The overall buying power of 'light green' consumers is estimated at $546 billion dollars worldwide, according to the Lifestyle of Health and Sustainability Journal www.LOHASjournal.com.
According to the most recent tracking poll by Integrated Marketing Services, nearly 50% of U.S. consumers scan products for environmental labeling before they reach the checkout counter. And, half of consumers surveyed say they switch the product brands they purchase (from household cleansers and paper products to cars and computers) based on environmental criteria.
Eighty-seven percent of Americans are concerned about the environment, according to Environmental Research Associates.
This growing 'green' consciousness is also evident in a recent National Quorum study that reports 64 percent of Americans are incorporating green thinking into their personal lifestyles.
