The RocketFire 6-Port FireWire Hub makes connecting and removing FireWire devices from the 1394 chain easy and efficient. The RocketFire Hub has six ports which are always active, passing data from one device to another at speeds up to 400Mbps. You can hot-plug and hot-unplug any 1394/1394a device into the hub and have it appear on the chain without the need for messy jumpers, complex cabling schemes, or powering down your other devices or your computer.
Some devices such as DV cameras only have one built-in FireWire port. This limitation requires the camera always be the last device on the chain. If you need to remove any other device from the chain, the whole chain is broken. By having six ports available, breaking the chain is no longer an issuse. And with the RocketFire Hub, devices with a single 1394 connector no longer need to be the last device, nor the only single port device connected.
The RocketFire Hub can supply up to 30 watts of power for devices which accept cable power. This is more than enough to power your devices, and eliminates the need for additional AC power, battery power, or wall transformers which clutter your workspace.
