Intelligent Image Option
The Intelligent Image™ Option increases backup performance and reduces CPU processes by mapping the metadata of a local file system and copying the volume as a single file to the storage device. Intelligent Image Option seamlessly integrates into Backup Exec operations and allows full volume or individual file restores from full, incremental, and differential backups. Intelligent Image Option supports servers with thousands of smaller files that require fast backups with minimal impact to system resources.

RAIDirector
Backup Exec RAIDirector, which supports RAID levels 0,1, 0+1, and 3, provides increased performance and fault tolerance of existing tape hardware while dramatically shrinking the backup window for a fraction of the cost of hardware-based solutions. Ideal for offsite storage, logically linking multiple independent SCSI tape devices provide flexibility for mirroring, striping, and striping with parity. In addition, exclusive RAID stacking allows for mirrored, striped sets.
